prevention and care

Prevention is better

Lay the doormat in front of the front door as a dirt trap. This will prevent dirt from getting onto your carpet from outside. Also bear in mind that dark carpeting is less sensitive to dirt and stains than light carpeting.

Regular vacuuming

In order to preserve the beauty and radiance of your carpet for a long time, we recommend vacuuming your carpet at least once a week. We recommend a vacuum cleaner with rotating brushes. These vacuum cleaners are slightly more expensive but much more effective. This is the only way to remove deep-seated dirt and the carpet pile will recover faster. Light soiling and stains are best removed with a carpet cleaning agent. Read the instructions carefully and always treat the stains as soon as possible.

cleaning

If the carpet is vacuumed regularly and stains are removed regularly, the first cleaning is only necessary after about a year. This also applies to light-colored carpets. If the carpet looks dirty, you can either clean it yourself or have it cleaned by a specialist company. When cleaning yourself, please always use quality cleaning products and follow the manufacturer's instructions.

shampoo

The use of a neutral shampoo is essential. Therefore, do not use alkaline or ammonia-based shampoo. Household cleaners are also strongly discouraged. Branded detergents should be checked for how much residual shampoo will leave on the carpet. To do this, put a little cleaner in a saucer, leave to stand overnight, drain and leave to dry. If sticky residual shampoo remains on the bottom of the saucer, it is not advisable to use it. Because then the household dirt could really and quickly settle in the carpet fibers again..

absorption powder

Both solvents and detergent-saturated powders are commercially available. Observe the manufacturer's instructions. After vacuuming, distribute the powder in the specified amount on the carpet and brush into the carpet pile. Then remove with the vacuum cleaner. It protects the carpet pile and the room can be used again more quickly because there is no drying time.

Foam shampoo in spray cans

For the intermediate cleaning of small areas, the use of foam shampoos in spray cans is recommended. Check the shampoo beforehand for sticky residue that can attract dirt. Generally spray the foam sparingly onto the carpet and work into the carpet pile with a damp sponge or brush. Then let the carpet dry and then vacuum it. Please always follow the manufacturer's instructions.

Spray injection and extraction

Often incorrectly referred to as steam cleaning, this method injects hot water and a cleaning solution into the carpet pile under pressure. This loosens the dirt particles from the fibers and can then be picked up together with the water by the system's powerful wet vacuum cleaner. This method is particularly effective for heavily soiled carpets with deep-seated dirt. However, the surface cleaning is not as thorough as other methods.en.
This method is also well suited for removing cleaning agent that has settled in the carpet pile after repeated wet shampooing. By combining both methods, even heavily soiled and worn carpets can be refreshed. The appropriate cleaning equipment can be borrowed. Nevertheless, cleaning by a specialist company is recommended here, as care must be taken not to overwet the carpet to protect the carpet pile and ground.

Professional cleaning

Professional cleaning is great for carpets and carpet tiles as all dirt can be effectively removed.

First aid for stains

1. React quickly
Do not allow stains to dry, but remove immediately with a clean kitchen towel. Remove the solid elements with a spoon.

2. Bleach Resistant
Please note that stubborn stains on 100% polypropylene carpet can be cleaned with diluted bleach. We recommend a mixture of 50% bleach and 50% water.

3. Treat thoroughly
Using a clean kitchen towel, treat the stain from the outside in to avoid spreading the stain. A carpet conditioner can be used for most stains. Use the right amount of product, not too much, not too little. Be sure to rinse the carpet to remove the conditioner and dirt. Wait for the area to be completely dry before going over it again.
